Pixel Wizards are interactive executable nfts, so called xNFTs. Each wizard is actually a piece of code rendered by your browser. Because Pixel Wizards are coded artworks it means we can do a lot more with them like making them animated, interactive and play sounds.

In our previous article, the complexity of a pixel wizard, we go more in-depth on how this works. For this article we explain how to interact with your wizard and experience a new age of NFTs.

General commands

All pixel wizards share a few common commands that is applicable to all Pixel Wizards. This overview will explain how to execute these commands to make your wizard do one of the following:

  1. Remove / Put on hat.
  2. Power up / Power down.
  3. Show price ticker and more token info.
  4. Open hidden menu.

Remove and put on his hat.

A wizard is able to remove his hat upon your wish. For this command we will be using Headmaster Berny as an example. This command is accessible to both desktop and mobile users.

Desktop: Press Q on your keyboard to remove his hat. Press Q again to put on his hat again. A sound will play when pressing this button.

Remove hat (desktop)

Mobile: Touch your wizard for 1.5s (like opening the right-click menu on your mobile) to make the RPG styled menu appear. Then click the hat icon. A sound will be played when pressing the hat icon.

Remove hat (mobile)

UNIQUE: There is one unique wizard that doesn’t wear a hat but instead is able to open up portals. Try out Pxl. Strange. On every page refresh the portal changes.

So now you have learned to magically remove and reappear a wizard’s hat. Let’s continue your practice with something more advanced…

Power up and power down.

As wizards are powerful and magical beings they are able to up their magical prowess a notch by let them casting spell to make them levitate and glow their eyes and mouth. For this command we will use Davner Broadcheek.

Desktop: Press W on your keyboard to power up your wizard. A sound will be played when powering up. A different sound is played when powering down.

Power up (desktop)

Mobile: Touch your wizard for 1.5s (like opening the right-click menu on your mobile) to make the RPG styled menu appear. Then click the power icon. A sound will be played when pressing the power icon.

Power up (mobile)

You have learned to power up your wizard. This means you are ready to use his wisdom. His wisdom is tightly bound to the trait “Token” that resembles a crypto currency ticker. Let’s see how we can use that!

Telling crypto prices.

Your wizard is able to share his knowledge with you from the wizard book of knowledge. It’s a data source that tracks the prices of the crypto currencies the wizards have interests in. Let’s use Tomin Ungarede his wisdom to invoke the price of $BTC.

Desktop: Press E on your keyboard to let your wizard tell the price of his token. The trait “token” determines what crypto price your wizard can tell. Also notice the red indicator indicating the percentage change is negative in the past 24h. A green one is displayed when the percentage is positive.

Tell price (desktop)

On desktop (only) the wizard is able to display additional information using the buttons 1,2 and 3.

  • Pressing the 1 key will tell the lowest price in the last 24h.
  • Pressing the 2 key will tell the highest price in the last 24h.
  • Pressing the 3 key will tell the percentage change in the last 24h.

For mobile users we already covered opening up the RPG menu. This menu is also available on your desktop. This can be done by pressing the R key.

We have now covered all general commands of your pixel wizard. But there are more hidden features within the collection that most wizard owners won’t even know.

All these traits respond to your interaction. Combining the general commands and these unique interactions makes it fun to play with your NFT. But there are more ways to increase the fun, and thats with events based on a date.

Wizard events throughout the year

We now know that Pixel Wizards can react on your interactions but they can also respond automatically based on a given date. There are pre-programmed events build into your xNFT that have an effect on your Pixel Wizard. Let’s look at those events:

Feb. 14 — Valentine’s day

Every year on the 14th of February your Pixel Wizards will tell you they love you. You do not have to do anything for it. Just have a look at your wizard and feel his love for you!

A wizard’s love

Apr. 04 — April Fool’s day

On the day we are all trying to fool one another, the wizard’s are fooling you. Check your wizard on this day to be fooled by him.

On the 6th of September your wizard will make you more aware of those who cannot behold the beautiful colors of the world. Wizards will be greyed out on this day.

Sept. 13 — Bald is Beautiful day

Being bald is beautiful, thats why Pixel Wizards will shave their beards and hair on this day to show you just that!

Another day to make you aware of those who cannot see right. On this day your wizard will be blurred to remeber those who cannot see clearly.

Dec. 22 — Short Person day

In our world, being tall is normal. But for some this is not the case. On the short person day, on the 22th of December, Pixel Wizards will be a little taller to honor those who walk among giants.
